Lesson 17: Image Mapping

Mt. Susitna

Mt. Susitna, near Anchorage, Alaska, 1998

Sleeping Lady
Many moons ago, an Aleut maiden lay down for a nap while she waited for her lover to return from hunting the mighty whale. But the angry seas devoured her lover and he never returned. In a fit of kindness, the gods allowed the maiden to sleep on, dreaming of her lover even unto this day. (Can you see her hair, fanning out from her head, and her hands folded over her stomach?)

Lesson Notes
I learned there are two ways to make image maps, the way I used below and the way I used in my last lesson. Although I found this way more difficult, it was easier once I found I could adjust by view in my web builder, rather than by number. I adapted both bars from the same short bar in a commercial set of graphics from Xoom, Inc.and used Eye Candy to make the extruded buttons. Fun! You can see another page with image mapping by clicking on "Page 2" below.
