The Grande Finale
Part 1
On the road to Eagle Summit, North of Fairbanks, Alaska 2004

Off to See the Midnight Sun

Camera, dogs, pillows, snacks. Off we go for an evening's outting to Eagle Summit, just 100 miles north of Fairbanks. It's late June and I want to get a photo of the midnight sun which can be seen from the summit.

Just before the end of the pavement (halfway there) we are stopped. Fire ahead! But they will guide us through with a pilot car if we want to go. Well, if the pilot car is going through, we can too! We are well committed, when smoke covers the road ahead of us and hides the pilot car. Uh, oh!

Web Notes
These little bluebells grew on Eagle Summit along with daisies and arctic fireweed and other wild flowers I didn't know the names for. What a difference changing the colors made to this web page!

Lesson Notes
The required element for this page is the trailing bluebell cursor. This script by Rainbow Arch seems to be easier to use than others I've tried. The bonus feature for this page is the mouseover navigation.
