The Midnight Sun

Midnight! And the sun did its best to peek through the smoky clouds. I got my photo, such as it was. Our hope that the summit would be high enough to be above the smoke was in vain, but even in the smoke-filtered light, we could see the tiny alpine flowers that grew all over and a forest of two small windswept trees. We left as soon as I got my photo but not before the omni-present mosquitos had several snacks on those areas of my body I'd not managed to cover.

Earlier, after we'd made it through the area where the fire burned near the road and before we turned onto the road that climbed to the summit, we watched the sun sink towards the smoky horizon, sneaking light and color underneath the dark smokey clouds. See below. (Use your back arrow to return here.)

Plain backgrounds and a little ribbon trim with blending colors let the photos take center stage. Alpine versions of pipe cleaner-like Pink Spikes provide dividers here. The navigation box is a photo of the sunset we saw on the way to the Summit.

The lesson requirement for this page is this logo that links to one of my earliest webpages. I also added a sliced image for naviagtion.
