Morning
Skies near the Arctic Circle Not all painted skies are vibrant and dramatic. This pastel scene was taken from the stone barrier that protects the city of Nome from the Bering Sea. The local children dashed about in shorts enjoying the balmy 60 degree late June weather while I, Arizonan that I have become, huddled in a coat I wished was warmer than it was. Nome is only 153 miles south of the Arctic Circle so this photo could just as well have been taken around midnight. ******* |
